JOB TITLE: Weekend Shop Assistant

REPORTING TO: Shop Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Work Experience Learners and Volunteers

HOURS: 14 hours per week, normally over 2 weekend days, with occasional weekday shifts on a rota.

ANNUAL LEAVE: 25 days’ annual leave (pro rata for part-time staff), plus 8 Bank Holidays 

SALARY: £12.21 per hour, rising to £12.71 per hour from 1 April 2026

PROBATION PERIOD: 3-month contract with a 6-week review, followed by a permanent contract

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a Weekend Assistant to join our Hornsey shop team. You will help the shop run smoothly, provide an excellent experience for customers and donors, and support our fundraising targets. This is a responsible role where you will take ownership of the shop on shift, help drive shop performance, and ensure income is maximised while delivering excellent customer service.
