Learning Support Assistants
North London - Highgate N6
Hours: Monday to Thursday (26 hours) or Tuesday to Thursday (19.75 hours), 8.45am - 4 pm, plus one additional hour per week for meetings.
Fixed term contract until July 2020
Start date: Immediate starts available, subject to DBS and references
Salary: £20,939 - £23,481 pro-rata (based on 37.5 hours week)
Harington is currently recruiting two Learning Support Assistants to work with people with learning disabilities and learning difficulties.
These positions will begin in October/November for a fixed term until July 2020.
As a Learning Support Assistant, your role is pivotal to the learning and development of young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. You will help the learner achieve their full potential by working closely with them in class, on work experience and in the community, aiding their study and liaising with teaching staff and parents.
We currently have 2 part-time vacancies (up to 26 hours per week) to work with students with a range of learning disabilities and support needs. You must be prepared to provide personal care to your students, and experience and understanding of learning difficulties/disabilities is essential.
To be suitable for these roles you must
· Be caring and understanding
· Have excellent communication skills
· GCSE equivalent English and Maths
· Be prepared to provide personal care
· Have experience working with SEN students
As this post involves working with young people aged under 18 appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS Disclosure with a barred list check.
We are particularly interested in speaking to applicants with experience of

* Supporting students with limited verbal communication including use of Makaton
* Support on work experience
*Horticulture or retail
Each position begins in November and you will be in post for the duration of the academic year 2019-20 with a possibility of further work in 2020/21 and beyond. Holidays must be taken outside of our term times (details will be given on application).
